In Memory Of
Tyrone L. "Sonny" Neff
1939 - 2018
Sonny had a rich and colorful life. As a boy, he attended a one room schoolhouse and worked at his father's sawmill. At 17, he enlisted in the Navy and served 6 years. Later, he joined the Air Force Reserves for 3 years.
After working his way up to Ohio, he found employment at Mac Tac, working in maintenance until he retired after 34 years. His active life style led him to get his private pilot's license, study karate, all while composing music and playing mandolin in the Allen Creek Coal Company bluegrass band. After retirement, he played in the Allegheny Outback band.
Sonny was preceded in death by his mother and father, Verda Mae and Emmerson Neff, and his brothers, Larry and Ernest Neff.
He leaves behind his wife, Trudy (Farrell); children, Mitchel (Mishel) Reese, Tamara (Jim) Haney, Travis (Stacy) Neff, Sharon Farrell, and Andy Farrell; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Emmerson (Dora), Marshall; and sister, Carol Worlledge.
The Lord must have loved us very much to take the attributes of faith, charity, kindness, generosity, fairness, and compassion and embody them in such a package as Sonny. He was our gift from God. Thank you, thank you, Lord.
Visitation will take place on Friday October 12, 2018 at Friendship Bible Church 1703 State Rt. 44, Randolph, OH from 12pm until 1pm. A funeral service will take place at 1pm. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Sonny's name to assist with the victims in Indonesia at www.samaritanspurse.org.
Thank you members and volunteers of UH Hospice, and the Webb family for all of their love, help, and support.
