May Whitehair, age 94 went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2018. She was born in Selbyville, W.VA. on January 30, 1924, moving to the Akron area at the age of 16. May worked at Goodyear Aircraft during WWII as a Rosie the Riveter, and managed Lee's Restaurant in the 1950s and 60s. She retired in 1974 to become a full-time homemaker and enjoyed her time at home baking for her family and loved tending to her flowers. May was devoted to and immensely enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also a faithful member of Millheim Baptist Church for 43 years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Jack Whitehair; son Jimmie Whitehair; parents Perley and Clara (Bragg) Miller; stepmother Doris Miller; sisters, Beulah Tressel, Hazel Marsh, Helen Hosaflook; brothers John, Harold and Carl Gene Miller.

May leaves behind daughter Carolyn (Michael) Kugelman; sons Michael (Sandra) Boyd and Jack (Martha) Whitehair; sisters Anna Rose McAllister, Norma Jean Groves, Pat (George) Sutton, Pearl Ruth (Ed) Gillum; brother Gary Lee (Sue) Miller. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.

We would like to thank our family, friends and neighbors for all of their loving help during this time and also to Crossroads Hospice for their exceptional care.
