Dorothy Louise Garritano, "Dottie", age 95 of Akron, Ohio, died on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home.

She was born on February 12, 1923 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth (nee Barber) Metcalf.

Dottie was a retail clerk for Kmart and she also sold Avon for many years. Dottie enjoyed dancing, working crossword puzzles, and sewing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her four children, Frank Garritano, Paula Garritano, Cathy Green, Paul Garritano, Jr.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Mary Bennett, also survives.

The family would like to specially thank her niece, Debbie Jackson, and her former daughter-in-law, Julie Garritano, they both took very good care of her for many years.

Other than her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Garritano, Sr.; and her siblings, James, Melvin, Jack, Bill, Roy, Hazel, Carole, and Elizabeth.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Tarah Ray will celebrate Dorothy's life. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
