George John Hennigin, age 60 of Akron, Ohio, died on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

He was born on December 13, 1957 in Cleveland, the son of the late George L. Hennigin and Shirley "Treasure" (nee Crane) Hennigin Kuzmickas.

George was a clerk for 42 years in the grocery business. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, he used to coach little league, loved going to the beach and he liked to fish. But his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, the former Valerie Falkenstein whom he married on July 24, 1976; his sons, Jason Allen (Rebecca) Hennigin and George Louis (Carrie) Hennigin; his grandchildren, George, Margaret, Andrew, Louis, and Russell. His sisters also survive, Kathleen (Dave) Zagar, Kerry (David) Welch, and Kelly (Cole) Williams; his step-mother, Cindy Hennigin; and his step-father, Donald Kuzmickas.

Other than his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Marcia Hennigin.

An Irish Wake for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Carovillese Lodge & Club, 570 East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44310 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.
