Twilla G. Uhrain, 87, formerly of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away on July 2, 2018. She was born on May 20, 1931 in Elizabeth, West Virginia to the late Floyd and Melissa Lowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Uhrain; sister, Alberta Higgins; and brothers, Lloyd, Bernard, Jack, and Bob Lowe. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Joyce Murphy and Mona (Scott) Barb; brother, Mutt Lowe; sister-in-law, Gayle Lowe; grandchildren, Joe, Matt, Monica, David (Miranda), Mellissa (Jeremy), Suzi (John), Jacob, and Caleb (Kelly); and great-grandchildren,Sophia, Aubrey, Luke, Liam, Nathan, Gage, Valerie, Trent, and Chase. Twilla also leaves many other relatives including her beloved nieces, nephews, and step-family .
She was a former member of Grace Brethren Church in Parkersburg. Twilla regaled us all with humorous stories of her many trips to Hawaii and Canada. Her greatest loves were her children and grandchildren; she loved to host family holiday get-togethers. In her later years, she enjoyed feeding and watching the birds at her home. She never missed a day praying for her family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Bob Combs officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Twilla will be laid to rest at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Elizabeth, West Virginia on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
