Samuel Harold Vickroy died in his home on April 11, 2018, in Cuyahoga Falls, OH after a long fight with kidney cancer and Alzheimer's Disease. He was 85 years old. He was born on September 23, 1932 in McConnellsville, OH to the late Samuel S. and Mary E. (Ball) Vickroy. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Elizabeth (Janeda) Vickroy; sister, Nancy V. He retired from General Tire Rubber Company (GenCorp). He loved the desert and spent many of his retired years volunteering in the paleontology department at the Sonoran Desert Museum. He was an incredibly intelligent and skilled man who spent time teaching his children to think through and manage all of life's challenges. He was very ornery and outgoing. He joked with and made a friend of nearly everyone he met, often to the embarrassment of his children. The family will hold a private celebration of his life and he will be buried in the family plot at Maplewood Cemetery in Athens County, Ohio.
