Rena M. Baker passed away peacefully into the Arms of Jesus, surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.

Rena was born in Sugar Grove, Ohio on October 7, 1924 to the late Mary P. Carpenter. Rena retired from First National Bank in Akron, Ohio on January 1, 1990 and she spent much of her time reading, camping with family every weekend and cheering on the Cleveland Indians.

Special thanks to the Palliative care nurses at Akron City Hospital.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Earl Baker, her son Ronald Baker and her siblings Richard, Lucille, Kate and Joanie.

Rena is survived by her son James (Mary) Baker of Akron, Ohio and her sister Karen (Don) Ashby of Sanford, Florida. She is very much loved and missed by her five grandchildren and her two great-grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where the funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 with Rev. Ryan Honeycutt officiating.
