Patricia E. (Wylie) Oeltjen, 85, of Akron, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2018 after a long battle with COPD.

Pat was born on October 7, 1932 to the late Clarence and Gename Wylie, in Lafollette, Tennessee. She lived the majority of her life in Akron, graduating from Ellet High School. Pat worked prior to marriage at United Airlines and Harwick Standard. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Donald R. Oeltjen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Nan Wylie, Eddie and Barb Wylie.

She is survived by sons, Mark and David of Akron and Jeff of Homestead, Florida. Pat also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Marisa (Josh Koepnick), Scott (Krissy) and Erica Oeltjen; great-grandson, Oscar Oeltjen; sister-in-law, Shirley Hall of North Canton, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank The Briarwood Assisted Living Facility staff and residents for their care and companionship. Also, thanks to the Asera Care Hospice for their support.

Per Pat's request, no public services will be observed.

Memorial contributions in Pat's honor may be made to any charity of donor's choice.
