Gertrude Fatica, "Trudy", age 87 of Uniontown, Ohio, died on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 3:35 AM at her home.

She was born on May 11, 1930 in Plainfield, NJ, the daughter of the late Arthur Joseph and Gertrude (nee Wiegand) Mathews.

Trudy was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, she also loved teaching these arts. She had a quilting club on Tuesday mornings called: Trudy's Tuesday Quilt Class.

Survivors include her seven children, Joyce (Terry) Coburn, Elaine (James) Finney, Constance (Doug) Moeller, Christine (James) Cooper, Tina Lourenco, Lisa Fatica, and Jerry (Linda) Bishop; ten granddaughters and one grandson; nine great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; and three great-great-granddaughters. She is survived by her siblings, Pat (Bob) Henry and John (Dorothy) Mathews.

Other than her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Armand Fatica and her two brothers and three sisters.

Memorial services will be held at Uniontown United Methodist Church, 13370 Cleveland Avenue, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2017 where her life will be celebrated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.
