Genevieve H. Kovacs
Genevieve H. Kovacs, 84, of Tallmadge, passed away December 19, 2014. She was born in Akron on January 3, 1930 to the late Frank and Helena Rozewicz. Genevieve was a member of New Horizons Christian Church. She was devoted to her children and set a wonderful example of how to be an excellent mother. Her daughters remember how loving and involved she was in their lives. She was a great listener and conversationalist. In the last years of her life, Genevieve had many struggles. Despite this, she maintained a positive attitude, kind heart, and terrific sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Jean Rozewicz and sister, Leona Rozewicz. She is survived by her daughters, Valdene (Dan) Barbuto, Peggy (James) Staubs, and Theresa (James) Seger; grandchildren, Dan (Amy) Barbuto, Sara (Mitch) Jellison, Cole Staubs, Adam Seger, and Shelby Seger. The family wishes to thank the staff at Heather Knoll for the years of care given to Gen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. followed by a 6:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Jim Bane officiating at New Horizons Christian Church, 290 Darrow Rd., Akron, OH 44305. Private burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Horizons Christian Church.
