Anton (Tony) Reitz
Anton (Tony) Reitz passed away November 15, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula, and is survived by son, Anton W. (Tony) (Denise), and daughter, Rose Reitz (Dave Whetsel).
Tony was born June 17, 1921, in Yugoslavia and lived in Germany before emigrating to Akron as a young man with his wife and son. He spent his life working hard to support his family and succeeded. He retired from Ford Motor Company (Walton Hills) where he was an assembly line troubleshooter, and he was a proud member of the United Autoworkers.
Tony loved traveling the United States and was very proud to be an American. He loved his family, was proud of their accomplishments, and supported them when it was needed most. Tony loved woodworking and spent many hours creating inlaid works of art and furniture. He equally loved hiking the MetroParks and was very proud of all the years he spent there walking ten miles a day. He was a wonderful cook and winemaker. Tony also loved going to Bob Evans several times a week with his special friend, Debbie Vannatter for many happy meals together.
The family would like to thank Debbie Vannatter and Boni Dennis for their love, so much help, and constant support. Also special thanks to the staff at Bob Evans for always making Tony feel welcome, and the staff at GreenView Assisted Living, Pebble Creek, and Summa Palliative Care.
There will be no calling hours or service. Condolences may be sent to 386 Neptune Drive, Akron 44319.
