George Andrew Pischak, 89, of Brimfield, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 and now has reunited with his wife June and The Lake Street Gang. George was born in Provident, Ohio on November 8, 1925 to the late Andrew and Catherine Pischak. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 during WWII in the Anti Tank CO. 69th Division 272nd INF. REGT. He graduated from Kent State University in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. George owned Akron M-P-T CO., Inc. for many years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Kent Post 496 and Kent State University Alumni Association. George spent many summers camping and fishing in Canada. He enjoyed golfing with his brothers and friends. George won golf league championships with his son, Bucky, and his golfing partner, Terry Kane. He enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas with his wife June. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his loving wife June of 56 years; sisters, Bess (Frank) Ujcic and Mary (Rob) Oliva; daughter-in-law, Helen DeGregio. He is survived by daughters, Cathy (Dave) Belding, and Carol (Joe) Stayer; son, Patrick "Buck" DeGregio; brothers, John (Eleanor) Pischak, and Joe Pischak; grandchildren, Joe Jr. (Lisa), Keith (Laura), Rayne, Kaitlin, and Shane; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jared, DJ, Becky, Amanda, Luke, Callen, and Georen. The family wishes to thank special neighbors, Bob and Edna Lindesmith and wonderful caregiver, Jane Adya for all of their loving care and support to George and his family. Cremation has taken place. There will be no calling hours and services will be private. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Brimfield Fire Department, 1333 Tallmadge Rd. Kent, Ohio 44240.
