Roseann Clara Jones went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2014. Roseann was a first generation Hungarian born in the U.S.A in 1942 to Julianna and Louis Dabi. As a child, she was a folk dancer at the Hungarian American Club and was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary parish in Akron. Later she attended and graduated from Garfield High School in 1960. Roseann attended the University of Akron for her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and was a sister of the Phi-Mu sorority. During her career she worked as a speech pathologist at various schools, clinics, and rehabilitation centers helping a large spectrum of people including young children, the disabled, and elderly patients. In 1992 she received her doctorate Ph.D. from Kent State University and was a professor on the Main Campus for several years. She served as an academic advisor, counseling and inspiring many young women in the field of Speech Pathology. She was married for 28 years to Juston Wayne Jones and resided in various locations in the Akron area for all of her life. Roseann enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid reader, and loved music, the fine arts and world culture. She will be dearly missed by her family and those whom she has touched.

She is survived by her daughter, Megan (Christopher) Gleason; grandson, Owen Gleason; son Blaine Jones along with his trusted companion, Monica Fuhrman.

Roseann was predeceased by her parents, Julianna and Louis Dabi; brother, Steve Dabi.

Family and friend may call on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 4:30pm to 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd Akron. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 12pm at Glendale Cemetery, 150 Glendale Ave. Akron, Ohio 44302.
