Survived by sister, Mildred McMahon; daughters, Linda DiGiulio, Euna (Arthur) Hetrick, Pamela (Walter) Pirogowicz; nephew, James Simmons; nieces, Monica (Dick) Early, Carol (Bob) Ullman, Joyce (Dave) Holmes, and Barbara McMahon; daughter-in-law, Ruth Hagerman Francis; grandchildren, Nicole and Nick (Chris) Hetrick, Doc (Kylie) and Zack (Kristy) Daugherty and Bruce Hagerman; great-grandsons, Liam and Kaigen.
Gerald graduated from West High School, was in the Army during World War II and worked almost 40 years at Bridgestone Firestone. Gerry loved Ohio State Football and all Cleveland sports teams. He loved being a Free Mason and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He belonged to Coventry Akron # 83 F. & A.M., Tadmor Shriners, Grand Commandery of Ohio, and Akron Council # 80 R & S.M. A special thank you to the staff at Maison Aine, who provided wonderful care for 11 years.
In lieu of flowers, please give to Maison Aine Activities Program or any of the Masonic organizations listed. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
