The Lord has called Leona to His house to start her miraculous journey. Leona passed away surrounded by family on January 28, 2016 after short illness.
Leona was born October 8, 1951 in Frankfurt, Germany.

She was preceded in death by parents Francis and Gertrude Griffiths; daughters, Kimberly and Kristen Rowland. She is survived by her soul mate and best friend, Jenny Crawford; daughters, Michelle (Dennis) Ronowski; Sandra (Lisa) Rowland; sister, Fran (Dennis) Rhodes; brother, Jim (Cindy) Griffiths; grandsons, Joshua and Brayden Ronowski; and many nieces and nephews.

She was greatly loved by all because of her unselfishness and caring attitude. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and they meant the world to her. Leona was a Director of Nursing at Wyant Woods where she was loved and respected. Leona proudly served in the Army and Reserves for many years.
The family wishes to thank her friends, Absolute Hospice, and the Oncology Unit of Akron General for their care and support.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 1-4pm and 6-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The American Cancer Society.
