Walter A. Nolan Jr., 68, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015. He was born on March 1, 1947 in Akron, Ohio. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Walter Nolan Sr. He is survived by son, J.R. (Stacy) Nolan; grandchildren, Liz, Sean, Shilo; sister, Ruth (Jim) Goodyear; nieces and nephews, Ted (Sandy) Chrapko, Candi Samels, Mary Beth Berry; great-nieces and great-nephews, Serenity, Tyler, Kyle, Shelby; former wife, Bonita Passarelli; sister-in-law, Jeanetta Wilborn; brother-in-law and best friend, Wesley (Fedelia) Chrapko.
Walter proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of Firestone VFW 3383. He retired from a long career as a truck driver. An avid sports fan, Walter loved playing golf and supporting the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Military honors will be provided by Firestone VFW 3383 on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Calling hours will follow until 6:00 p.m.
