Jimmy Ray Hershberger 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 31, 2015. He was a longtime resident of the Akron area and served as a board member and usher at the River of Life Church in Greentown. Jimmy grew up on a farm with seven siblings. He enjoyed football, fishing, hunting, cooking and helping others. He also enjoyed motorcycle charity runs. Anyone who knew Jimmy knew that he was ornery and loved to laugh.
He was preceded in death by parents, Eli and Martha Hershberger; brothers, Ronnie and Jerry. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; son, Kevin (Tamie); daughter, Bonnie; and two grandchildren; sisters, Betty, Norma Jean (Floyd), Juanita, Sandra (John), and Diana; and many other family members and friends. He will be loved and missed by many.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday September 2, 2015 from 5-8pm and on Thursday September 3, 2015 from 10-11am with the funeral service immediately following. Pastor William Howe and Rev. Michael Tanksley officiating. Interment Hillside Memorial Park.
