Jacob R. Breth, 80, of Tallmadge, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at home. Jacob was born in Akron, Ohio on July 14, 1934 to the late Joseph and Lillian Breth.

He graduated from South High School in 1952. Jacob retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 42 years services as a machinist.

In his free time he enjoyed fishing, horse racing, wood working and driving his PT Cruiser.

He also farmed for many years in Edinburg, Ohio, while still employed at Goodyear. During that time, he also coached Edinburg's Hot Stove League baseball and girls' softball in the 1960's and 1970's.

He is survived by his wife Shirley A. Breth; children Vicki Grelson, Robert Breth, Karen Breth and Susan Broman, and granddaughter Jennifer Grelson. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Summa at Home Hospice for all of their care given to Jacob and his family.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11am. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hospice of Summa, 444 North Main St. PO Box 2090 Akron, Ohio 44398.
