Robert L. Werner
Robert L. Werner, 72, of Akron, passed away March 9, 2010 at his residence. He was born October 26, 1937 in Akron, Ohio to the late Maynard L. & Ruby (Hamrick) Werner. Bob retired from Walmart in August 2009 after 12 years of service. He had a strong passion for fishing and the Goodyear Model Aircraft Club of which he was a member. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Ice. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, JoAnn (Austin) Werner; daughters, Julia (Joe) Overholt and Teresa (Dave) Banks; grandchildren, Joe and Jeannette Overholt, Jessica and Zack Banks. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Overholt officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park with Pastor Dave Banks officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa, 444 N. Main St., Akron OH 44310.
