Patricia Ann "Pat" Hays
1934 - 2018

Patricia Ann Hays, "Pat", age 84, peacefully fell asleep in death on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Akron General Justin T Rogers Hospice Care Center in Akron following a brief illness.

Pat was dearly loved by her husband of 59 years, James H. Hays; her children, James Brian Hays and his wife, Kriss, Donna Jean Halbheer and her husband, Jurgen; her siblings, JoAnn Ferguson and her husband, Bob, Henry Smith and his wife, Meredith; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

Born April 17, 1934 in Akron, Pat enjoyed her early years at Chippewa Lake, including her job, delivering papers on her brothers’ route. She was known for being a hard worker and helped to support the family. After graduation, she took a job as a lawyer’s secretary in Medina and later worked for a title search company. Pat met her husband, Jim, through her cousin, while they were building a house for a relative. After Jim was discharged from the Army, they married on January 15, 1959.

Pat was fond of cats and often looked after strays that wandered into her yard. She loved flowers and looked forward to planting them every spring.
Her favorite job was being a wonderful wife, mother and friend to her family, who will miss her dearly.

Pat was baptized on October 15, 1951 and attended the East Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Akron, OH. She was known as a loving spiritual sister and was rarely missing at the congregation meetings. She loved spending her time sharing the Good News of God’s Kingdom and looked forward to the peaceful conditions it will bring. (Isaiah 32:18)

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2180 Martin Road, Mogadore, Ohio on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 7:00 PM.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.
