Bruce Wallace Panning, age 60, of Rittman, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Akron City Hospital.

Bruce was born on June 10, 1957 and was adopted by the late Jane and Louis Panning. He grew up in Silver Lake, Ohio, and attended Walsh Jesuit High School and The University of Akron. He was married from 1980 until 2009 and had three children. Bruce was always passionate about cars, and was mostly recently employed by Premier GMC, who treated him like family.

Other than his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Minaee.

Bruce is survived by his three children, David (Erica) Panning, Kristen Panning, and Michael (Kate) Panning; two grandchildren, Jack and Harper Panning. He is also survived by his loving fiance of 9 years, Bethany Marie Skolnik, whom he shared many Cherished and Loving moments and Blessings of each day; Beckie and Frank Klancer, who loved him and treated him like their own son-in-law; and Lil'boy and Best Buddy with FUR, "Chop" (aka Chopper), whom he adored and loved very much.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Chandler and the staff of the Akron City Hospital, T3 MICU, where Bruce received wonderful care during the last weeks of his life.

Private services are being arranged with Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.
