Durbin J. Ellison, age 62 of Uniontown, Ohio, died on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Akron City Hospital.

He was born on May 3, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of the late John and Imogene (nee Durbin) Ellison.

Durbin was a 1974 High School graduate of Brebeuf High School in Indianapolis. He was a carpenter by trade and worked on many jobs. Durbin liked to build things, he was highly skilled. He loved to make wood carvings such as, pillars, canes, and anything workable; he was an avid fisherman. His greatest joy in life was being a grandpa, he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife, the former Sally Harrington, whom he married on July 10, 1976; his two children, Cori (John) Lagani of Tallmadge and Lee (Jennifer) Ellison of Hartville; and his only grandson, Gino Lagani.

Other than his parents, Durbin was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Ellison.

Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM, where family and friends may visit and pay their respects from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in his memory.
