In Memory Of
Josephine Julia "Josie" Hyde

Josephine Julia Hyde, "Josie", age 16 of Akron was born on January 10, 2002 in Akron.

Our beautiful angel, Josie, went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family on February 13, 2018.

Josie was a sophomore at Springfield High School and a member of the First Evangelical Congregational Church in Akron. She deeply loved her home away from home, Camp ECCO, and was chosen to participate in YouLead, in order to become a youth leader and active missionary. She had a very giving and pure heart, always volunteering in the Springfield district and her church community.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jenna Combs; her grandmother, Donna Baldt, and many great grandparents.

She is survived by her parents, Jennifer and Shanon Hyde; her sisters, Jonah Combs, Jordan Combs, and Riley Hyde; her aunt, uncle and godparents, Melissa and Andy Leach; cousin, Morgan Leach; many aunts, uncles, and extended family.

Also surviving are her grandparents, Rick (Laurie) Combs, Terry (Ricky) Sturm, Tom Baldt, Adela James, and Mercedes Hyde; and her great-grandmother, Betty Shearl.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM and again from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 5:00 PM at First Evangelical Congregational Church, 369 East Woodsdale Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44301, where Rev. Scott Carr will celebrate her life.
