In Memory Of
Kathleen Marie Taylor
1942 - 2018

Our father welcomed his beloved “Lovely Bride” Kathleen Marie Taylor into heaven on Thursday, February 15, 2018.

Theirs was an original love story and it seems that several story writers could have drawn inspiration from their life. Their love for one another, their family, friends and for life was evident through their actions and words to so many. It was second nature to them both to provide a safe haven for those seeking love, comfort and shelter. This has been told to us time and time again through friends and family sharing stories on how they made a positive impact on so many lives. As parents, they taught us and showed us what it means to give and love freely without expectation.

Mom always did things on her terms, both in life and in death. Some may call this “bossy” but we just called it her being Kathy. She was known for her quick wit, clever responses and of course her beautiful nails. We will miss her advice, her sass, her laughter and most of all, her love for her family.

Kathy was a lifelong resident of the Akron area, graduated from St. Mary’s High School and lived the past 43 years as a resident of Tallmadge. She was a long time member of Annunciation (Visitation of Mary) parish and along with her friends, was a pillar of the church community for many years. She touched many people who trusted and confided in her and shared their struggles with her. Her advice, guidance and wisdom was sought out by many. Kathy gave of her time freely and many close friend/family members were also lucky enough to have her make their wedding cakes.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Stephen Taylor and her sister Sue Arvay. She is survived by sons, Brian (Steve), Chris (Karen); daughters, Amy (Gary) and Julie; grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew, Stephen, Allison, and Samuel; brothers John Kernan, Vince (Marlene) Kernan and Mike (Mitzi) Kernan; sister in laws Betty Kittinger, Linda Zielinski, Diane Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Special thanks to our sister Amy Taylor for her loving care through her final days.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, at Visitation of Mary Parish, 87 Broad St., Akron, OH 44305. Cremation will follow with private family interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
