James K. Palmer, II, "Jim", age 72 of New Franklin, Ohio, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Akron City Hospital.

He was born on July 24, 1945 in Akron, the son of the late James K. and Gloria (nee Blevins) Palmer, I.

Jim was an accountant at GoodYear for 32 years, retiring in 2001.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, the former Lynda L. McCredie, whom he married on July 10, 1965; his son, Michael "Mike" (Heather) Palmer; grandchildren, Evan, Morgan, and Garrett Palmer and Charleigh Riffle; and one great-granddaughter, Salem Palmer; his sister, Colleen "Cokey" (Gary) Langley; his Canadian family, Jim (Connie) McCredie, David (Holly) McCredie and their family, Cora and Carter, and Scott (Cindy) McCredie and their family, Riley.

Per Jim's request there will be no calling hours. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Taylor for all of his care, as well as, the T3 Floor of Akron City Hospital for all of their kind and loving support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
