Gerald W. Kirkman, "Jerry", age 70 of Akron, Ohio, died on Friday, January 5, 2018 at his home, the VA Medical Foster Care Home in Bath Twp., Ohio.

He was born in Akron, Ohio, on July 6, 1947, the son of the late Jimmie and Vida Mae (nee Swisher) Kirkman.

Jerry was an honorably discharged US Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Kirkman was a manager for Giant Eagle and he enjoyed eating and enjoying life with his friends.

Survivors include his caregiver and friend, Patricia A. Brown, with whom he made his home.

Jerry does have a daughter, SHOULD ANYONE KNOW OF HER WHEREABOUTS, PLEASE CONTACT US AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 330-784-3334.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
