David Allen Underwood, 63, of Akron, passed away on December 31, 2017. He was born in Akron on November 10, 1954. David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Freda Underwood; brother, William "Craig" Underwood; his love, Mitzi "Claire"; and brother-in-law, Bernie. He leaves behind his brother, James (Michelle); sister, Lisa Barnhart; sister-in-law; Julie Underwood; children, Jill, Tara, Joseph (Ashley), Dustin (Megan); grandchildren, Olivia, Caleb, Ariana; and beloved cat, Mia.

David loved to spend most of his time outdoors with family and friends. He loved to observe nature. David always brought light and laughter to the room. His sense of humor will never be forgotten. Dad gave us all loving and endearing nicknames. He loved to teach his favorite methods of cooking. David was one of a kind and will live in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will begin at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Angels For Animals, Canfield, OH in his name.
