Marie Ann McClung, age 73 of Akron, Ohio, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Rose Lane Care Center in Massillon after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 14, 1944 in Brownsville, PA, the daughter of the late Stephen William and Anna Helen (nee Sabala) Kovachick.

Marie was a graduate of John A. Brashear High School in Brownsville. Marie then went on and became a PI and a plain clothes security guard. She also was a homemaker and enjoyed her family. She loved gardening, crocheting, painting, listening to music, and cooking.

Survivors include her children, John (Katherine) Brown, Debra McDonnell, David Brown, Kristina (James) McClung, Devin McClung, and Michele McClung; her grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Matthew, Matthew, Jessica, Alexis, Heather, Tyler, Kailee, Jayden, and Kesten; her great-grandchildren, Avah, Madilyn, and Myah. Her brother, George Kovachick is also surviving.

Other than her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Brown, and her brother, Stephen Kovachick.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where family and friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
