Esther L. Hagen, 94, of Akron, passed away November 16, 2017. Esther was born in Colver, Pennsylvania on July 30, 1923 to the late Calvin and Jessie Mervine. Prior to moving to Akron in 1943, she was a resident of Nanty Glo, PA. She was very proud of her part-time service at the Summit County Board of Elections, where she made long lasting friendships with many. Esther enjoyed gambling trips with friends and keeping up on current events, but most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. She looked forward to planning and taking an annual family vacation to Garden City, SC, where she loved to sit and watch the ocean.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter "Tom" Hagen, and her sister Edith Hollenbaugh.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Sharon Steed, Joyce Stull, Gary Hagen, Rick Hagen, Kim Arnold and Robin (James) Reed; grandchildren, Tom, Chris, Paul, Dawn, Kerri, Shelly, Vicki, Amanda, Amy, Brett, Jenna, Jackie and James; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; very dear friends Cathy and Ron Wegmiller, and her niece Willonette Steed and nephews Ron (Delores) Hollenbaugh and Randy (Myra) Hollenbaugh, all of South Carolina.
