1940 - 2017

William Charles Harrison "Chuck", 77, of Akron, passed away on October 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Meadville, PA on June 6, 1940 to the late William and Catherine Harrison. After graduating from Bowling Green State University, Chuck worked for Goodyear Aerospace. He continued his career at Prime Computers and Ball Corporation, and then retired from Yxlon Corporation. During these years, Chuck started his own businesses: Mid American Distributing and Ruff Rider Inc. Motorcycle Parts and Accessories. Chuck was an avid motorcycle and go cart racer and a lifetime race fan of Sprint cars and also dabbled in acting, appearing in several plays at the Weathervane Theater. He was a Life Master Bridge Player. All his interests culminated in many lifetime friendships with hundreds of friends who have remained close. His work led him to travel home and abroad. He loved learning about other cultures and languages and shared his experiences with color and animation.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brothers, Freddy and Jim. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Pat; children, Jeff (Dorene), Dan (Beth), and Andrea K.; brothers, Benjamin and Edward; sister, Mary Kay; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at noon at the reception hall adjacent to the church.
