He was born in Akron on July 18, 1951, the son of the late John W. and Ann M. Samples Hobday.
Robert was a 1969 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, and he furthered his education by attending Walden University where he received his BS degree in Business and his MS degree in Psychology.
Bob was an honorably discharged US Army Reservist during the Vietnam War Era serving 6 years.
Some of his favorite hobbies were music and playing chess. He was an accomplished musician.
Bob worked as a salesman at several dealerships including Fred Martin Super Store for 10 years. He owned several successful businesses including Franklin Foods and Manchester Motors.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, the former Monica C. “Cindy” Citrone, whom he married on July 20, 1969; his children, Robert Scott Hobday, Jr., Angela Marie Hobday, Michelle D. (Zebulon) Jones, Sr., and Heather Renee (Karl) Schabel; his grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Zebulon, Jr., Zelana, Zavior, and Joseph. His siblings also survive, John “Jack” Hobday, William (Sharon) Hobday, and Anna “Andy” (Gary) Dye; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Following all services Robert will be cremated.
