Ralph Hodgson, Jr., "Jim", age 82 of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, died on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Akron Children's Hospital.

He was born on May 8, 1935 in Cloe, PA, the son of the late Ralph Hodgson, Sr. and Edith Wood Hodgson Fye.

Ralph was an honorably discharged Army veteran following the Korean War.

Jim was retired from General Motors in 1991 as a foreman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Cleveland Indians. Jim was a family man, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Survivors include his loving wife, the former of Kathryn Stopkey, whom he married on January 23, 1960; his children, Jimmy (Mary) Hodgson and Susan (Greg) Fay; his grandchildren, Brandon Hodgson, Sarah (Ronnie) Smith, Andy Fay, and Brian Fay; and his one great-grandson, Tyler Smith.

His siblings also survive, Martha (Vinnie) Villella, Beverly Fye, Bernice (Jerry) Wright, Barbara Fye, Brenda (Dave) Bofinger, Dave (Louise) Fye, Rick (Zana) Fye, Joe (Paula) Fye, and Blase (Melissa) Hodgson; his brother-in-law and best friend, Anthony "A." Stello.

Other than his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his two siblings, Nancy Stello and Terry Hodgson; and his grandparents who raised him, Charles and Nancy Wood.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223; cremation will follow.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2017.

Morning prayers will begin at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 AM before processing to the church for Mass.
