Bernard L. Barnhart, 73, of North Benton, passed away suddenly on May 13, 2017. He retired from Acme Meat Department in 2011 after 36 years of service. Bernie loved to fish and looked forward to having his annual fish fry at his house on Berlin Lake. He also loved going to auctions with his brother, Floyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orland and Madeline Barnhart; mother-in-law, Freda Underwood; and brother-in-law, Craig Underwood. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lisa Barnhart; brothers, Chuck (Shirley), Floyd (Bonnie), and John (Kathy); sisters, Rosemary Matako and Rita (Jim) Brady; brothers-in-law, David Underwood and James Underwood; sisters-in-law, Pam Underwood and Julie Underwood. Bernie loved his cats Minnie, Maddie, Tobie, and Furbie. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends, and special friend Greg Desper.
There will be a celebration of Bernie's life on the lake at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Rd., Canfield, OH 44406.
