1929 - 2017

Harold V. May, 87, formerly of Akron, passed away on February 23, 2017. He was born on December 2, 1929 to the late Urban and Clara May. Harold graduated from Ellet High School in 1947 and retired from General Tire after over 40 years of service. He was a former member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church.
Harold was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. He loved golfing, hiking, bowling, and trips to casinos. One of his proudest achievements was hiking down and up the Grand Canyon twice.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Fay and siblings, Winifred S. Burkhardt, Lucille Ferguson, and Francis May.
He is survived by his children, Robert A. (Debbie) May of Massillon, OH, Grace L. (Michael) Rettig of Lebanon, OH, Susan (Joe) Natoli of Akron, OH, Regina L. (Jeff) Vincent of Cave Creek, AZ, Kim E. Dunnington of Akron, OH, and Suzan C. LaMancusa of Kent, OH; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Our precious memories of you will always be in our hearts.
Private services will be observed by the family.
