Phyllis E. (Tatko) Tryon
1922 - 2017

Phyllis E. (Tatko) Tryon, 95, died after a brief illness on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Rockynol Retirement Home where she had lived since March of 2014. She was born in Akron, OH and lived there working in the real estate business until moving to Cortland, OH in 1969 where she helped her husband start his own business.

An avid bowler, she was also part of the ladies Wednesday night league at Cortland Lanes for many years. What meant most to Phyllis was her Catholic faith and her family. She doted on her grandchildren, and in later years was fully smitten with her great-grandchildren. She loved to travel to visit family and to take day trips with her sister to various casinos where Lady Luck seemed to be always at her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Carl Richard Tryon; her beloved son, Michael; and her brother, Henry Tatko. She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Linda (Dan) Chovan, Eddie (Susie) Tryon, Debbie (Jim) Fox and Carla (Jeff) Morris; siblings, Stanley Tatko, Wanda Pilcher, Jane Tatko; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her. The family will lift her up at a private ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery.
