Archie Dayton Stone, Sr., "Bud", age 74, passed away on Feburary 19, 2017.
Archie retired from Ford Motor Co. in Walton Hills after 30 years as a forklift operator. He was an avid NASCAR and wrestling fan and loved time spent with his Punky and animals.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Vergie Stone; his siblings, Nelva Stroupe, Anna Robinson, Herman Stone, and Nolan Stone; his wife's parents, Erma McCollam and Ralph McCollam; and brothers-in-law, Eugene McCollam, Clarmen McCollam, and Boyd Isom.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis; two children, Archie Jr. "Tad" Stone and Tambra "Tammy" (Chris) Dean; only granddaughter, Olivia "Punky Punk" Dean; brother, Rufus (Leota) Stone, sisters-in-law, Patsy Stone, Pat McCollam all of Ohio; brothers, Carl Jr (Pat) Stone and Kenny (Zana) Stone, sisters, Fredia Isom, Jewel (Dennis) Melton, brothers-in-law, Will Robinson and Dennis Stroupe, and sister-in-law, Karen Stone all of Virginia. Also, many nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral serivces will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 24, 2017 where Pastor Chad Kelly will celebrate Archie's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Entombment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
