Donald J. Morton, Jr., "Donny", age 48 of Akron, Ohio, died on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 8:04 PM at his home.

He was born on December 28, 1968 the son of Joseph A. and Susanna Stepic Morton Martin, Sr. of Newburgh Hts., Ohio.

Donny was a 1987 graduate of Mentor High School and attended KSU and Herzing University. He worked for Standard Parking and was the lead man. He liked wood working, reading, and animals.

Donny was also an honorable discharged US Navy Veteran of the Gulf War. Donny was extremely patriotic.

Other than his parents, survivors include his wife, the former Karla Tonguette, whom he married on October 29, 2005; his dog, Rhysie; his two sisters, Carey (companion Gary Brown, Jr.) Calabrese, and Jennifer (Dale, Jr.) Sedlacek; one step-brother, Joseph A. Martin, Jr.; his wife's mother, Barbara Miller Tonguette; his wife's sister, Karen (Dale, Jr.) Gearhart; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews survive.

Preceding Donald in death was his wife's father, James Tonguette.

Calling hours will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be privately held at the funeral home on Saturday.
