Grace Ann Hower, age 80 of Akron, Ohio, died on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 7:37 PM at Akron City Hospital.

She was born on November 29, 1936 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the daughter of the late Howard and Lillian Sayers Folk.

Grace enjoyed riding motorcycles; she ran the "Dry Peoples Club" in Akron; and she loved attending church and spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her husband, James Hower; her children, Kenneth (Debbie) Harmon, Terry (Joseph) McIntrye, Allen Harmon, Kathy (Robert) Savage, Sonnie (David) Smith, John (Debbie) Harmon, and Jayne Heidt; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters also survive, Carol (Mike) Millican and Linda Loudermilk, and many nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Schaeffer; and her three sisters, Patricia Andrews, Judith Miller, and Shari Youngs.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Gary Smith will celebrate Grace's life.

Family and friends may visit from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
