Ronald L. Leafgren, "Ron", age 84 of Akron, Ohio, died on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:11 AM at the Hospice Care Center.
He was born on August 27, 1932 in Akron, the son of the late Roy and Audrey Booth Leafgren.
Ron graduated from East High School and went on to KSU and received his BS in Education and taught physical education at the middle school level in Los Angeles, CA. Ron also was an honorably discharged US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War.
Ron liked to garden, cook, travel, and was a wonderful devoted husband and family man.
Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret McNair Fruth whom he married on November 1, 2013; his step-children, Lynne (Larry) Hamrick and Robert Fruth; four step-grandchildren, David Tannehill, Andrew (Natalie) Tannehill, Robert Fruth, and Casey (Danny) Howie; three great-grandchildren, Kaid Howie, Kenslie Howie, and Charles Tannehill.
Other than his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Murie Leafgren; and his brother, Roy Leafgren; and his step-son, Richard "Rick" Fruth.
There will be a graveside military service at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in the pavilion, please contact family for date and time.
