1940 - 2016

Jean I. Rhodes, 76, residing in Akron, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2016. Jean was born in London, England; daughter of the late Alexander and Isabella Marshall. She spent her childhood in Haugh of Urr, Scotland before moving to the United States in 1956. She met her husband, Edward, where they resided in Randolph, Ohio. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, especially to her childhood home; she loved her flowers and gardening, and won awards yearly, and enjoyed baking her famous Christmas cookies for family and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Dusty" Rhodes; brother-in-law, Thomas Flint, and nephew, Dana Flint.

She will be dearly missed by her sister and best friend, Helen Flint of Rootstown; daughters, Rhonda (Kenny) Campbell of Randolph, and Lori Rhodes (Donny Loveless) of Lake Milton; and nieces, Sharon and Karen Flint of Kent.

Private family services will be held and she will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jean's name to Disabled American Veterans or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
