Joseph Petrekovich

Joseph Petrekovich, 81 of Atwater, passed away on August 22, 2016. Joseph was a United States Army Airborne SP4 (E-4). He served active duty from 28 July 1958-27 July 1960 S72 ENCO of the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, KY. He was certified as a construction machine operator receiving the Good Conduct Medal, along with many other certifications. Joseph retired from Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton and was a member of Boilermakers Local No. 900. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with family. He loved his grandkids and great-grandbabies.

Joseph is preceded in death by his father, Zvonimir Petrekovich; mother, Kitty Petrekovich; brothers, Frank, Mike, and George. He is survived by his loving wife, Madge Petrekovich; children, Doris, Doug, Joe, Tammy, Jack, Jim, Sherry, Shane, Mark and Tracy; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Veterans Home Based Primary Care and Summa Hospice at home.

Family will receive friends on Friday August 26, 2016 from 10-11am with the funeral service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Pastor Ronald Lanham officiating. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
