Together Again.

John Earl Chase passed away peacefully on July 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Chase.

John was one of three sons born to the late Edwin Rainey and Virginia (Thomson) Chase. He was born in Centralia, Illinois on January 20, 1940. In 1959, John entered the United States Air Force. After 4 year of active service, and 2 years of reserves, John was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. John began working in the factory at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1965. In 1997, after over 32 years of faithful service, John retired from The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

John is survived by his children, Eddie (Brenda), John (Kristen), Greg (Shannon), and Jim (Mary). John and Christine were blessed with nine grandchildren: Landon, Adam, Riley, Connor, Cailynn, Victoria, Brandon, Collin, and Parker.

John loved to travel with his wife Christine, visiting family and friends.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Parish, 2603 Benton Ave., Akron, OH 44312. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
