He was born on May 27, 1962, the son of David R. and Mary McGinnis Wise of Stow.
He was honorably discharged from the US Coast Guard. Michael was a 1980 graduate of Stow High School, he went on and furthered his education graduating from Walsh University with a BA in Business Administration and the University of Phoenix with a MBA in E-Commerce. Michael was currrently employed with GE in Cleveland. He was a member and past commodore of the Akron Yacht Club; past member of Toastmasters; member of the Stow American Legion; loved boating, traveling, cooking, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Other than his parents, other survivors include his wife, the former Lorrie L. Reffner, whom he married on September 26, 2009; his son, Sean Wise of California, his daughter, Niki (Andrew) Carson of Washington; two grandchildren, Addison and Johnathan Carson; his siblings, David R. (Debi) Wise, II, Edgar (Sandy) Wise, and Anntonina Roberts; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Family and friends may also visit on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
Michael will be laid to rest in Hillside Memorial Park.
